5 DAYS BACKPACKING NEGROS+SIQUIJOR







































Im dreaming of visiting all the 80 provinces of the Philippines. September last year when a budget airline Cebu Pacific Air offers a 1 peso fare for all their domestic destinations. Without hesitations I grab the opportunity. I booked a flight from Manila bound to Bacolod then Dumaguete to Manila. This 5 days trip would cover the 3 provinces- Negros Occidental, Negros Oriental and Siquijor.

Day 1
  • arrived at the Bacolod-Silay Airport
  • explore the heritage city of Silay
  • dine  at El Ideal Bakery
  • glimsed of yesteryear at The Ruins in Talisay
  • tasted the famous Bacolod chicken inasal
  • checked-in at Bacolod Pension House
  • roamed around the City of Smile-Bacolod City


Day 2
  •  jogged at the Negros Occidental Provincial Capitol grounds
  •  hop a mini-bus bound for Mambukal in Murcia
  •  explore the waterfalls of Mambukal Resort
  •  checked-in at Ong Bun Pension House

Day 3
  • travelling from Bacolod to Dumaguete
  • arrived at Dumaguete City seaport
  • boarded a ferry boat to Siquijor
  • arrived at the Island of Fire- Siquijor
  • eat lunch at the Diamond de Siquijor Beach House restaurant
  • rested from the long hours of travelling


Day 4
  • explore the whole island of Siquior

Day 5
  • jog with the locals at the Rizal Boulevard in Dumaguete
  • roam around the City of Gentle People-Dumaguete
  • from sweets to streets foodtrip

DAVAO




Davao City is the country's largest city in terms of land area. It is the regional center of the Davao region and the beating heart of Mindanao. It also the home of famous durian fruit, majestic mount Apo and the endemic Philippine eagle.



  • Museo Dabawenyo displays photographic exhibitions documenting both the Japanese and American occupations in the city. The galleries also features  patchwork of indigenous tribal groups, religions and ethnicities of Mindanao. Located at A. Pichon corner C.M. Recto St. opens from 9am-12nn  & 1-6pm Monday-Saturday. Admission is free.
  • People's Park is a family friendly green space features a life size sculptures of native people of Mindanao designed by a dabawenyo prolific artist Kubai Millan.
  • Davao Crocodile Park is a combination of conservation center and a zoo.Located at the Riverfront Corporate City Diversion Road Brgy. Ma-a. Admission is P 300.00 .
  • Dabaw Museum has a good collection of tribal wearings and artifacts of most tribes from Mindanao. the museum is located besides Waterfront Insular Hotel. Admission is P20.00 and opens from 9am-5pm Monday to Saturday .







Budget airlines have direct flights to/from Davao to Manila, Clark , Cebu , Cagayan de Oro, Iloilo, Puerto Prinsesa and Zamboanga.

Philtranco also travels to/from Manila to Davao for 48 hours.
